Step aside, girl from The Sound of Music

I am nineteen going on twenty
I know that I'm naive,
Fellers I meet may tell me I'm sweet
and willingly, I believe.
I need someone older and wiser
telling me what to do,
You are twenty going on twentyone
I'll depend on you.

Now I just have to meet a 20 yr old.

One of my early haunting shames is that I was in my local production of "The Sound of Music." I was Kirk, curtain clothed and sweetly voiced.
Now I am Flan, with voice husky and meerly smelling of curtains.

I sometimes wish I was 20 again. It's an interesting time of life. You aren't a teen any longer and so can protest when people treat you like a child, but also you aren't 21, the traditional "Comming of age", and so can still dodge a fair amount of responsibility. Kinda like being 11. You're in double digits, but not a teen. You're a tween. I like those little 'inbetween' moments. They're interesting.

But still scary.
